Tyler Ten Shines at Star Awards, Claims Best Rising Star Title

Tyler Ten has emerged as a standout talent at the Star Awards, being named Best Rising Star which signals his potential to shine brightly within Mediacorp. At 29, Ten shared the spotlight as one of the three Most Popular Rising Stars, competing alongside Zhang Zetong and Ayden Sng, with this being their final chance at the award due to time restrictions on eligibility; next year, they will vie for the Top 10 Most Popular Artiste honors.

This recognition marks a long-awaited moment for Ten, who was a finalist in Star Search 2019 and was always a prominent figure in the competition due to his impressive physique and charisma. Although his rise took longer compared to Zhang Zetong, last year's winner, it seems to be Ten's moment to thrive.

Prior to the announcement, Ten couldn't hide his nerves, resembling a young student awaiting exam results. He shared that anticipation heightened his stress level as he wanted to honor the support he received from fans, worried he might disappoint them again after not winning in previous years. This time, he chose to take a different approach by trying to focus less on the outcome.

In the past year, Ten has exhibited his versatility; his performance as a psychopathic killer in the hit drama "Unforgivable" demonstrated his acting talent beyond his looks. Additionally, his memorable role as a charming gangster in "Emerald Hill" has significantly boosted his fame.

Dressed in a revealing suit during his acceptance speech, Ten's anxious demeanor didn't escape the notice of host Guo Liang, who humorously commented on how tense he appeared. When asked about his pre-appearance routine, Ten joked that he hadn't done any push-ups, but instead practiced fasting, believing it was beneficial for health.

After the awards, Ten humorously lamented the closure of restaurants, which meant he couldn't indulge in a post-event feast but planned to treat himself to a giant Nutella cake the following day. In the meantime, he decided that instant noodles would have to suffice, expressing his fondness for Shin Ramyun, which he hadn’t had in months.
