The Argentine Rugby Union has announced that scrumhalf Gonzalo Bertranou will not be available for the second test match against England in San Juan this Saturday due to injury.
Bertranou, aged 31, was substituted during the first match in La Plata, which Argentina lost 35-12. He was replaced by Simon Benitez Cruz at the beginning of the second half. The nature and severity of his injury have not been revealed.
Coach Felipe Contepomi has brought in Mateo Albanese to replace Bertranou. This brings the total number of scrumhalves in the squad to three, with Benitez Cruz and Agustin Moyano also vying for a spot in the team.
Furthermore, Argentina has added Guido Petti and Geronimo Prisciantelli to the squad. Petti, who can play either lock or flanker, will bolster the team. Prisciantelli, who is uncapped, provides additional options in the backline. These additions are for the upcoming match against England and the subsequent game against Uruguay in Salta on July 19.

I can’t believe they're bringing in an uncapped player when we need experience. Desperate times.

Another potential loss before we even step on the field. It's disheartening.
