Mass Migration

Trump's Immigration Raids "Insane" and Ineffective

Joe Rogan, who endorsed the Republican candidate in the 2024 election, described the Trump administration's nationwide immigration dragnet as "insane." He specifically criticized the targeting of migrant workers, including those in construction and gardening, rather than focusing on cartel members, gang members, or drug dealers.

Rogan has previously voiced his disapproval of these raids, calling them "fing nuts." The Trump administration has employed aggressive immigration raids targeting both convicted criminals and migrants without criminal records as part of its effort to detain and deport a large number of undocumented individuals daily.

These raids have occurred in various locations across the country, including homes, businesses, and residential areas. They have been conducted in places like restaurants, farm fields, and even parking lots. These operations have transformed immigrant neighborhoods into areas with significantly reduced activity.

A significant percentage of those arrested and deported had no prior criminal convictions. The operations, often involving masked and heavily armed federal agents, have sparked protests. Democratic leaders have also conducted oversight visits at ICE detention centers, which are holding a record number of people.

Despite the focus on rapid arrests, the Trump administration has brought few penalties against businesses employing undocumented immigrants. The Department of Homeland Security has stated there will be no "safe spaces" for employers illegally hiring undocumented people.

Trump has considered some form of immigration compromise for businesses in hospitality and agriculture, which rely heavily on immigrant labor. However, his immigration officials have maintained that workplace raids will continue.

The Trump administration's proposed spending package would further increase the pace of immigration raids. The Senate version of the bill includes a substantial increase in immigration funding, with a significant portion allocated to enforcement and deportation operations. This would make ICE the largest federal law enforcement agency and better funded than many global militaries.

It's about time someone called out the "fing nuts" raids. They're destroying families and communities.

Rogan's right, these raids are brutal and ineffective. Focusing on cartels is the smart move.

The number of people being detained, many with no criminal record, is a human rights disaster.

This is a colossal waste of resources. We need smarter immigration policies, not these gestapo tactics.

The fact that this bill is going to make ICE larger than the military says a lot.
