Sean “Diddy” Combs has been ordered to remain in custody following a jury's decision in his prominent sex-trafficking trial, where he was convicted on two of the five charges he faced. The judge, Arun Subramanian, refused to grant Combs bail ahead of his sentencing, highlighting concerns over his long-standing pattern of violent actions.
Combs was specifically found guilty of transportation for the purpose of prostitution, a charge that could lead to a maximum sentence of ten years in prison. On the other hand, he was acquitted of the more severe allegations of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking involving force, fraud, or coercion.
This verdict stemmed from discussions among the jury, which consisted of eight men and four women, who indicated there were members with firmly held opinions on both sides regarding the racketeering charge. Combs was apprehended in September 2024 after federal investigators accused him of threatening, abusing, and coercing individuals to satisfy his sexual urges over a time span from 2004 to 2024. Following the verdict, his attorney expressed that the jury has given Combs a chance to move forward with his life.
