The Quad, comprised of the United States, India, Japan, and Australia, issued a statement on Tuesday concerning a recent Islamist militant attack in India-administered Kashmir. The attack, which resulted in the deaths of 26 people, prompted the Quad to call for the swift prosecution of those responsible.
The attack on April 22nd led to intense fighting between India and Pakistan, both nuclear-armed nations. India attributed blame to Pakistan, which denied involvement and instead requested an impartial investigation.
The joint statement, released by the foreign ministers of the Quad during their meeting in Washington, refrained from explicitly naming Pakistan or assigning blame to Islamabad. The statement strongly condemned all forms of terrorism and violent extremism, including cross-border terrorism.
The Quad ministers urged all United Nations member states to actively collaborate with relevant authorities to ensure justice for the individuals responsible for the attack. They emphasized the need to hold the "perpetrators, organizers, and financiers" accountable without delay.
The United States views India as a crucial partner in its efforts to counter China's growing influence in Asia. Pakistan, on the other hand, is an ally of the United States.

The Quad doesn’t have the backbone to actually hold Pakistan accountable. Empty words don’t help the victims.

It’s frustrating to see such a lack of accountability. Where’s the urgency in addressing terrorism?

They’re scared to confront Pakistan directly. This shows a serious lack of commitment to combating terrorism.

Finally, a united front against terrorism! The Quad is showing leadership when it matters most.
