A number of Congress members embarked on lengthy road journeys to reach Washington, D.C., by Wednesday. This was in anticipation of a vote on President Trump's domestic policy bill. The decision to drive was prompted by severe weather conditions that disrupted air travel.
Heavy thunderstorms and significant rainfall led to the cancellation of numerous flights destined for airports in the Washington area, including Reagan National. This situation left some members of the House, regardless of their stance on the bill, with no alternative but to travel by car.
Representative Nancy Mace, a Republican from South Carolina and a known supporter of Mr. Trump, opted for an overnight drive to Washington with her staff. She shared her experience via a livestream on X from the van.
"The reason I’m on the road is because my flights were canceled to D.C. and I didn’t want to take any chances," Ms. Mace explained, dressed in pink pajamas. While holding her dog, she requested suggestions for dining locations along the route to Washington from her viewers.

She's trying to paint herself as relatable when she's anything but.

I like that she takes the time to interact with her followers. This is much better than the private jets.

Using taxpayers money to be in a car, what is more important?
