Philadelphia added Dan Vladar, and the New York Islanders signed David Rittich. These moves reflect the scarcity of available talent and the importance of securing reliable goaltenders.

Edmonton, a team that recently competed for the Western Conference title, may face a goaltending dilemma. They might be compelled to rely on their current tandem of Stuart Skinner and Calvin Pickard.
