Police have released disturbing footage capturing the moment a 23-year-old man, Glasgow-Lattibeaudiere, opened fire on passengers of a taxi in Manchester. Following a dramatic chase on an electric bike, he confronted two males in the back of the taxi in Oldham’s Derker district around midday on January 16. Dressed entirely in black and wearing a face covering, he demanded the driver stop and urged the passengers to exit the vehicle.
As he forced one of the rear passenger doors open, the taxi driver fled in fear for his safety. In a chaotic turn of events, the gunman managed to enter the taxi through the other side, while one passenger escaped and attempted to ride off on the electric bike. However, Glasgow-Lattibeaudiere brandished a handgun and shot at the retreating passenger, hitting him in the back. He then aimed his firearm at another passenger, Brandon Nolan, who had exited the vehicle while brandishing a knife, but fortunately the shot missed.
After fleeing the scene, Glasgow-Lattibeaudiere boarded another taxi and was tracked down to an apartment block in Hulme. The following day, armed police arrested him in the apartment he was hiding in. As officers approached, a black man bag was hurled from the window, and authorities later discovered it contained a small silver revolver with three loaded bullets, determined to be linked to the previous day's shooting.
Charged with multiple offenses including attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, Glasgow-Lattibeaudiere was sentenced on January 22, 2025. Additionally, Nolan was given a 12-month prison term for having a weapon. According to Detective Chief Inspector Charlotte Whalley from the Greater Manchester Police's Major Incident Team, this case illustrates their ongoing battle against gun violence in Oldham, detailing the proactive measures taken by the police to recover firearms and prevent similar criminal incidents.
