The UK is bracing for a major rainstorm that spans 714 miles, set to arrive just days after temperatures rise to potentially 35C. According to WXCharts UK weather maps, much of the country—extending from Portree in Scotland to Cornwall—will be subjected to rain, with temperatures cooling to around 16 to 17C on July 5.
The areas most at risk for severe rainfall are likely to be in the south of England, where cities such as Southampton, London, Cardiff, and Plymouth are expected to bear the brunt of the storm. Meanwhile, in Scotland, cities including Glasgow, Ayr, and Carlisle are forecasted to experience significant rain, along with the possibility of lightning and thunderstorms.
As the weather outlook progresses, Monday (June 30) is predicted to be the hottest day of the year, especially in central and eastern England, where temperatures may exceed 30C and could reach 35C in places like London and Cambridge. The long-range forecast from the Met Office for the period from July 4 to 13 indicates that any lingering rain in the southeast will eventually clear, giving way to cooler and fresher conditions.
It is expected that the weather will turn more turbulent in the northwest over the weekend, with a mixture of rain and showers anticipated across various regions in the UK. While some locations may enjoy clearer and drier conditions, the maps predict that the weather will remain changeable, especially with frequent rain in northern and western areas while the south and east remain relatively dry and warm. This shifting pattern indicates that heavy rain could coincide with the end of the recent heatwave.

After the heat, the plants and wildlife, and every living thing in general needs hydration. Rejoice!

I like the forecast, it seems perfect. The UK nature will thank the rain for its benefits!
