British travelers attempting to return home from a popular holiday spot are facing delays due to a significant fire. The blaze, which has broken out in the coastal city of Izmir, Turkey, has prompted emergency services to take action.
The Adnan Menderes Airport has been forced to halt all flight operations as a result of the fire. Several flights have already been cancelled, including a flight to Hanover scheduled for 9:00 PM and a flight to Cologne at 9:05 PM.
Further cancellations include a 9:15 PM flight to Trabzon, as well as an incoming flight from Ankara, also scheduled for 9:15 PM local time.
Izmir is a popular destination, known for its historical sites, such as Ephesus, its bustling bazaars, and its picturesque Aegean coastline. Direct flights to the city are available from London Heathrow with British Airways and from Bristol with Wizzair.

Feeling incredibly stressed right now. No idea how I’ll get home.

Wondering how many other flights are impacted. Wish I knew how long this will last.

Complete disregard for the passengers. This is all about money, not people.

Thinking of everyone affected by the fire and the delays. Hoping everyone is safe!

No alternative flight info, no accommodation details, just pure chaos.

A reminder that sometimes things are out of our control. Stay safe and patient, everyone.
