Former Wimbledon star Slobodan Živojinović has claimed he had a relationship with Diana, Princess of Wales, while she was still married to Prince Charles. The 61-year-old shared this story in an interview with a Serbian newspaper, discussing his alleged connection with the late royal, who passed away in 1997 at the age of 36.
Živojinović revealed that their relationship developed while both were involved with other people. He recounted their initial meeting in 1987, before his Wimbledon match. He remembered Diana asking if he was the tennis player with the fastest serve, to which he replied affirmatively. She then inquired about the quality of his serve, and shortly after, they began seeing each other.
At the time, Živojinović was also engaged. He emphasized that Diana was still married to Charles. He described Diana as a wonderful woman, someone with whom he could discuss anything, making even simple things fascinating. He chose not to elaborate further out of respect for her memory. He did note the significance of having someone from the Royal Family supporting him at his matches, an experience he had never had before.
He also spoke about his son's reaction when told that Diana was a princess. His son was surprised, as children often have their own preconceived notions of what a princess should look like. However, Živojinović stated that Diana was excellent with children and understood his son well.
Živojinović represented Serbia at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, South Korea, but was defeated in the second round. He retired from tennis in 1992 and later served as President of the Tennis Federation of Serbia from 2006 to 2011.

What a cheap way to stay relevant from the past.

If it was real, why didn't he mention this sooner? Fishy.

Protecting his son's feelings, he's conveniently vague? Doesn't add up.

He's being respectful of her memory by not elaborating too much.
