Czech military intelligence revealed on Friday that Chinese diplomats and secret service agents surveilled Taiwan's Vice-President-elect Hsiao Bi-khim during her visit to Prague last year. The intelligence further indicated that the Chinese agents had intentions to physically intimidate her.
Hsiao's visit to the Czech Republic took place in March 2024. Despite the absence of formal diplomatic relations between Prague and Taiwan, the Czech Republic has cultivated friendly ties with the island nation, which operates under a democratic government. China, however, considers Taiwan as part of its own territory.
Reports from Czech media last year detailed an incident involving a Chinese diplomat who ran a red light while following Hsiao's vehicle. Further information, as reported by the Czech public radio news website, suggested that the Chinese agents had also devised a plan to orchestrate a staged car accident.

China is trying to protect its national sovereignty. Is that really so surprising?

Taiwan deserves to be protected. This is a clear attempt to undermine their democracy.

Playing the Taiwan card again? Pretty transparent, considering the ongoing geopolitical tensions.

This is a clear example of a nation using covert operations to try to pressure a state.

Sounds like a convenient narrative. Another attempt to demonize China. Where's the actual evidence?
