A former TUI air stewardess, Charlotte Lee, 21, from South London, is facing drug charges in Sri Lanka. She was arrested after authorities allegedly discovered a significant amount of cannabis in her baggage upon arrival from Thailand on a Sri Lankan Airlines flight in May. Reports indicate she has been videoed smiling and conversing with guards.
The alleged stash of Kush, a type of cannabis, is believed to be the largest seized at Bandaranaike Airport since its international hub began operations. The drugs, estimated to weigh 46kg and valued at 460 million Sri Lankan rupees, were reportedly packed tightly. Officials suspect the drugs were intended for high-end local buyers. If convicted, Ms. Lee, currently held in a prison north of Colombo, could face up to 25 years in prison. She has denied any knowledge of the drugs.
Following her arrest, Ms. Lee stated she had never seen the drugs before and did not expect the situation at the airport. She suggested the cannabis could have been planted and claimed to know who was responsible. She explained she packed her bags before a night out and did not inspect them before going to the airport. She has also described the conditions of her detention, mentioning a lack of beds and blankets, and sleeping in a space resembling a long corridor with other women.
Ms. Lee also mentioned that sleeping tablets are provided, and only a bucket is available for washing. Custom officers have been photographed with the bags of drugs they claim were in her possession. Her legal representatives have confirmed she is in contact with her family and is receiving daily visits from lawyers. Reports indicate she traveled to Thailand from the UK to meet a man named Rocko before her flight to Sri Lanka.

Didn't know". Right. 46 kilos and she's innocent? Give me a break.

The photo evidence and the quantity of drugs speaks for itself, that is not some mistake!

Let's not rush to judgment. Her story about the bags is plausible. I hope she gets a fair trial.

Maybe she’ll rethink her life choices during her 25 years.

25 years is a harsh lesson. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
