Following the hottest day of the year, the UK is bracing for another period of high temperatures. Forecasts indicate that temperatures could reach 34C within the next few days. The peak of the heat is expected on the following Monday.
The areas expected to experience the highest temperatures include Kent, Surrey, and West Sussex, with a predicted 34C. Hampshire, East Sussex, London, Dorset, and Somerset are anticipated to reach 33C. Regions from Suffolk to Gloucestershire will see temperatures around 32C, while Cambridgeshire and Devon will experience 30C.
The rest of the Midlands, including Northamptonshire to Shropshire, along with Norfolk, Lincolnshire, and Cornwall, are expected to range between 27C and 29C. Wales will see temperatures between 17C and 27C, while Northern Ireland and Scotland will experience temperatures between 16C and 22C. The north of England is expected to be between 18C and 26C.
The Met Office has provided a forecast for the period. A low-pressure system near the northwest of the UK will bring wetter and windier conditions to that area. Elsewhere, the weather will be dry and very warm or hot initially. There is a possibility of thunderstorms developing due to the heat. The weather is expected to turn cooler and fresher from the west by the middle of next week. The conditions are expected to be changeable, with drier spells interspersed with rain and wind. There is also a chance of further very warm or locally hot and humid weather, potentially bringing thunderstorms.
For this evening and tonight, the weather will become increasingly cloudy and windy in the north and west, with rain spreading eastward overnight. Friday will remain cloudy, wet, and windy in the northwest. The south and east will be drier with sunny intervals and breezier than Thursday. The weekend and the start of next week are expected to be mostly dry with sunny spells, though some patchy rain is possible in the northwest. Temperatures will be hot for some, especially in southeastern parts.

It’s OK news. It is a good thing we understand the details beforehand.

34C! That's insane, and I’m not well equipped for this weather.
