On Wednesday, Wang Huning, the chief political advisor in China, encouraged members of the country's advisory body to remain committed to the correct trajectory of economic reforms. During a meeting that concluded the 12th standing committee session of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), Wang emphasized the importance of collaborating and engaging in the reforms.
Wang, who holds a significant position in the Communist Party of China and leads the CPPCC, stressed that the advisory body should maintain its focus on critical issues within the realm of economic reform. He proposed that members conduct thorough research and provide valuable recommendations concerning the implementation of these reforms.
Additionally, he highlighted the importance of preparing for the upcoming 15th Five-Year Plan, which covers the years 2026-2030. Wang urged for the improvement of the CPPCC's operational systems and responsibilities, encouraging members to take concrete actions in fulfilling their duties for the latter half of the year.

Participants in the session, which commenced on Monday, engaged in discussions related to economic reform and the push for modernization in China.

Engaging in reforms, or controlling the narrative around them? I'm skeptical about the former.

What's a 'correct trajectory' if it's based on a closed system of free thinking, not open debate?
