On Thursday, a China Coast Guard spokesman issued a statement regarding recent events near the Nansha Islands. The spokesman accused the Philippines of illegal activities in the area between June 15th and 18th. According to the statement, Chinese forces responded to the situation in a professional and lawful manner.
The spokesman, Liu Dejun, reiterated China's claim of "indisputable sovereignty" over the Nansha Islands, specifically mentioning Banyue Reef and Jianzhang Reef, along with their surrounding waters. He criticized Philippine vessels, alleging they were engaging in "illegal infringing and provoking" behavior under the pretense of "fishing protection." This, he claimed, was a continuous threat to stability in the South China Sea.
Liu's statement included a strong warning to the Philippines, stating that any attempts at infringement would be unsuccessful. He further declared that the China Coast Guard would persist in conducting regular law enforcement patrols within waters claimed by China, with the aim of "resolutely safeguarding territorial sovereignty and maritime rights and interests.

Kudos to the China Coast Guard for bringing attention to this issue. We must stand firm in our claims!

Liu's warning is just an empty threat. The Philippines has the backing of international law and the world on its side.

The Philippines deserves support from the international community against these unreasonable threats. We cannot let bullying win.

Let’s not forget that some nations take provocative actions under the guise of fishing rights. It's time for accountability!
