A young girl from Bulwell was lured to St Ann's by someone she believed was a new friend. Disturbing videos of the incident, too distressing to share, show her sitting on a park bench before another girl violently pulled her to the ground by her hair and began assaulting her. Other teenagers then joined in the attack, with one particularly shocking moment showing a teen kicking the girl in the face.
The victim's 25-year-old brother discovered the videos after they were sent to his sister by a friend who had seen them on Snapchat. He expressed that he and his mother were sickened by the footage, calling the attack shocking and disgusting. The victim, whose identity is being protected, has a medical condition that has affected her since birth. Her brother explained that while she is physically 14, she is mentally seven. She struggles to concentrate at school and desires to make friends.
Following the attack, the victim had a CT scan, but only sustained a few cuts and bruises. Her brother stated that it was unbelievable given what happened. The victim does not remember how long the attack lasted, but neighbors reported it went on for 10-15 minutes before a resident intervened. The brother also posted an appeal on Facebook, receiving messages from parents who said their children had also been attacked by the same teenagers. He wants action to be taken, as it is clearly not an isolated incident.
Nottinghamshire Police has launched an investigation into the incident, which occurred around 9 pm on Thursday, June 19, on Abbotsford Drive. A police spokesperson confirmed the 14-year-old suffered bruises to her arms and shoulders, as well as bruising and scratches to her face.
Police Constable Ruby Trigger of Nottinghamshire Police stated that the attack was completely unacceptable. She emphasized that while the victim did not suffer serious injury, it must have been a frightening ordeal. The police are taking the incident very seriously and are working to understand what happened by reviewing CCTV and conducting local inquiries. They are urging anyone with information, including those with footage, to contact them.
