China's J-10CE Fighter Jet Takes Center Stage at Paris Air Show

Foreign visitors examined Chinese exhibits, including the J-10CE fighter jet, at the 55th Paris Air Show in Paris, France, on June 16, 2025. The event officially commenced on Monday local time.

The J-10CE fighter jet, which has recently achieved notable combat success, was a major draw for media and visitors. Many flocked to the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) exhibition booth to view and photograph the J-10CE model. Zhu Qian, deputy head of the AVIC delegation, stated that the J-10CE's presence at the show highlights the Chinese aviation industry's dedication to openness and collaborative development within the global aviation supply chain.

AVIC has consistently participated in the Paris Air Show since its debut in 1987, showcasing aviation equipment with technological advancements and market competitiveness. The event provides a platform for mutual learning and exchange with global peers, including the J-10CE fighter and its integrated airborne weapon systems. Zhu emphasized the Paris Air Show's significance as a premier event for international cooperation and exchange within the aerospace industry, noting its role in witnessing the growth of China's aviation sector.

The Paris Air Show has been a constant companion for AVIC, reflecting the globalization of China's aviation industry and its transformation from a follower to a contender. The Global Times reported that other 4.5-generation fighter jets, such as the F-16V, F-15E, Rafale, and Typhoon, were also present. The J-10CE was displayed as a scale model alongside PL-15E and PL-10E missile exhibits.

The J-10CE previously debuted at the Paris Air Show in 2019 and has been showcased at various international defense expos. Zhu, who was involved in the J-10 fighter jet's development, believes the J-10 is an exceptional aircraft. The J-10CE, an export variant, is a 4.5-generation multirole fighter designed for all-weather operations. It features exceptional maneuverability, advanced avionics, a cutting-edge fire-control radar system, and integrated weaponry. The J-10CE is capable of beyond-visual-range engagements and excels in electronic warfare and coordinated combat.

The J-10CE fighter jet's impressive combat performance in recent foreign military engagements has increased its prominence at this year's show. Zhu highlighted the Paris Air Show as a platform for international cooperation, with the J-10CE's presence demonstrating China's commitment to open collaboration in global aerospace development. Chinese aviation professionals are dedicated to achieving a leading position in the global aerospace industry.

In addition to the J-10CE, AVIC showcased its "20 Series" equipment, including the J-35A and J-20 fighters, with the J-35A making its international debut. AVIC plans to continue introducing advanced aircraft in the future.
