A serious traffic accident unfolded in Shenyang, the capital of Liaoning Province in Northeast China, on Tuesday. The collision involved a bus and several other vehicles, leading to significant casualties.
The incident took place around 7:55 pm near Lianhe Road in the Dadong district of Shenyang. The aftermath of the crash resulted in a total of 18 individuals sustaining injuries. Emergency medical services swiftly transported all the injured to local hospitals for immediate care.
Tragically, despite the best efforts of medical professionals, two individuals succumbed to their injuries. The bus driver, identified as a 52-year-old man with the surname Wang, was taken into custody at the scene. Authorities conducted toxicology tests, which confirmed that neither alcohol nor drug use contributed to the accident.
Initial investigations suggest that the bus driver lost control of the vehicle. This occurred while he was attempting to avoid pedestrians in the area. Following the accident, emergency response operations were completed, and traffic flow has since returned to normal.
