Ma Ying-jeou, the former chairman of the Chinese Kuomintang party, is set to visit mainland China for the fourth time since leaving office. Accompanied by a group of young visitors from Taiwan, his trip is scheduled to take place from June 14 to 27, covering Fujian and Gansu provinces. According to a report from Cankaoxiaoxi, a newspaper under Xinhua News Agency, the purpose of this visit extends beyond just gaining insights into the local history and industrial advancements of Fujian Province; it also aims to enhance interpersonal exchanges between individuals from both sides of the Taiwan Strait.
Before departing from Taoyuan International Airport, Ma expressed hopes that the visit would inspire more youth from Taiwan to explore the mainland while also welcoming young individuals from the mainland to visit Taiwan. He believes that such interactions will contribute positively to peace across the Taiwan Strait. The first destination for the delegation will be the city of Xiamen in Fujian Province. Zhu Fenglian, a spokesperson from the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office, confirmed that Ma would lead the group to the 17th Straits Forum and other cultural activities, emphasizing the event's popularity among those on both sides of the Taiwan Strait. More than 7,000 participants from Taiwan are expected to attend, representing various sectors including political parties, trade unions, and youth organizations, further underscoring the significance of this cross-Straits gathering.

Ma Ying-jeou's frequent trips to China only serve to undermine Taiwan's sovereignty. We should not entertain their propaganda!
