New York City is bracing for a heat wave this weekend, with temperatures expected to climb into the 90s on Sunday. This marks the first significant heat event of the season.
The heat is predicted to intensify further on Monday and Tuesday. Many areas within the metropolitan region are forecast to reach the high 90s, with the possibility of exceeding 100 degrees. These temperatures are significantly above the typical range for this time of year, which usually falls between 80 and 85 degrees.
The National Weather Service has issued an extreme heat warning for the city. This is the highest level of alert and will be in effect from noon on Sunday through 8 p.m. on Tuesday.
The oppressive conditions are expected to pose a serious threat to health, especially for vulnerable populations such as the elderly and those without access to air conditioning.

All this heat is suffocating! How are people expected to cope, especially the elderly?

So much for enjoying the outdoors this weekend. Thanks, Mother Nature, for ruining summer.
