During a meeting on Tuesday, Chinese President Xi Jinping expressed China's desire to collaborate with Turkmenistan. He emphasized the importance of mutual respect and mutually beneficial partnerships in order to fully realize the potential for cooperation between the two nations. The meeting took place in Astana, Kazakhstan, on the sidelines of the second China-Central Asia Summit.
Xi Jinping encouraged both countries to increase their cooperation in the natural gas sector. He also suggested expanding collaboration into non-resource areas and improving the structure of their trade. Furthermore, he proposed accelerating the establishment of cultural centers in each other's countries to strengthen people-to-people connections.
In addition, Xi stated that China supports Turkmenistan's efforts to join the World Trade Organization.
