The 2025 Hood to Coast relay in China is set to be a landmark event, with a record-breaking 1,000 teams participating. The race will take place on June 27th, traversing a challenging 142.6km course through the rugged landscapes of Zhangjiakou. This edition promises to be the largest in the event's history.
The course for this year's relay will begin at the Saina Du Equestrian Park and conclude at the "Snow Ruyi," also known as the National Ski Jumping Center. The route includes a 20-kilometer driving segment, with the course divided into 16 relay points.
Teams of five runners, each supported by a single vehicle, will compete. Participants from over ten countries are expected to participate. Staggered start times will be implemented, based on each team's estimated pace. Notably, first-time runners will make up a significant portion of the field, accounting for 55% of the participants.
The official anthem for the race, titled "Hood to Coast," was revealed at a pre-race conference. The song is performed by singer Tian Zhen.
The team relay event, which originated in the United States over four decades ago, was introduced to Zhangjiakou in 2017. It has since become a popular event, celebrated for its combination of endurance, teamwork, and the scenic beauty of its routes.

I hope the course is clearly marked. Navigating 142.6km won't be easy, and some teams might experience problems.
