I've criticized the BBC's China reporting for bias. It was refreshing to read their article, "Students or Spies?" which sympathetically covered the impact of the US visa revocations on Chinese students.
The US is targeting Chinese students, echoing McCarthyism's paranoia. The assumption is they're threats, but international students are a benefit, fostering understanding and reducing conflict.
International students broaden perspectives and promote global links, strengthening security. China and the US previously recognized this, with student exchanges improving relations.
The current US policy reverses this, creating suspicion and resentment. It undermines goodwill and reinforces the idea of China as an enemy. I hope the BBC continues to highlight the impact, and China champions student exchanges, recognizing them as a benefit, not a threat.

Spot on! We need more voices to stand up against this unjustified targeting of students.

We're not talking about the old days. The threats are different now. It's not McCarthyism, it's realism.

The article probably didn't mention the Confucius Institutes and their questionable influence. Very convenient.

Agree 100%! The US should be fostering understanding, not erecting walls.

It’s a step back for international relations. They're fostering the enemy narrative the US so loves to cultivate.

International students aren't all innocent. Some are definitely tied to the CCP and its agenda.
