Leylah Fernandez, seeded fifth, and Linda Noskova, seeded seventh, both advanced with straight-set wins. Fernandez of Canada defeated Cristina Bucsa of Spain 6-3, 6-4. Noskova of the Czech Republic recorded nine aces in her 6-1, 6-3 victory over Francesca Jones of Great Britain.
Dayana Yastremska of Ukraine also progressed, defeating Antonia Ruzic of Croatia with a score of 6-2, 2-6, 6-4.
