Regina Father Among Victims of Air India Flight Crash

A heartbreaking incident has struck a Regina family as Piyushkumar Patel is believed to have died in a tragic Air India flight disaster that took place shortly after the plane’s departure last week. The ill-fated flight, which was en route to London, crashed in northwestern India, resulting in the loss of at least 270 lives.

Jatin Patel, a close friend of Piyushkumar, shared that the victim's wife and two daughters have travelled to India to submit DNA samples that will aid in the identification of his remains. Piyushkumar had relocated to Regina with his family only last year after securing employment in the city and had recently taken a trip to India in May to visit his parents before returning to London to meet friends. In response to this devastating situation, Jatin Patel is organizing fundraising efforts to support Piyushkumar’s family with financial costs during their time abroad.
