A physician has agreed to plead guilty to illegally providing the actor Matthew Perry with ketamine shortly before his death in 2023. Court documents reveal that the doctor, Salvador Plasencia, administered the drug to Mr. Perry at his residence and in a parking lot.
Under the terms of the agreement filed in federal court, Dr. Plasencia could receive a prison sentence of up to 40 years and a fine of $2 million. The charges against him include four counts of distributing ketamine, a potent anesthetic.
Dr. Plasencia, 43, operates an urgent care clinic in Calabasas, California. He is the fourth individual to plead guilty in connection with Mr. Perry's death. The Los Angeles County medical examiner's office concluded that Mr. Perry's death was caused by the "acute effects" of ketamine. A court date has not yet been scheduled.
Mr. Perry, who had a long history of battling alcohol and drug addiction, was discovered unresponsive in a hot tub at his Los Angeles home on October 28, 2023. He was 54 years old.

A doctor should be a healer, not a dealer. It's shocking to see this happen, and I hope he gets a harsh sentence.
