Manhunt Intensifies for Minnesota Lawmaker Shooting Suspect

Minnesota authorities provided an update on the ongoing search for Vance Boelter, the suspect in the shooting of several lawmakers. The search is described as "fluid" as law enforcement works to locate and arrest Boelter.

Boelter, 57, is accused of fatally shooting Minnesota House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark, at their home. He is also accused of shooting State Sen. John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette, at their home.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) superintendent, Drew Evans, stated that authorities are actively searching for Boelter on federal and local warrants. Searches have been conducted in Sibley County, where Boelter's vehicle and a hat believed to belong to him were found. Residents in the area are urged to report any suspicious activity.

Authorities are reviewing numerous tips and evidence. The investigation is complex, and investigators require time to analyze the information. The suspect is believed to have targeted the lawmakers in a planned attack, appearing at their homes in a police-like uniform and a mask.

The search for Boelter began on Saturday morning and continued into Sunday. Authorities are exploring all possibilities regarding his potential destination and mode of travel. They are operating under the assumption that the suspect is still alive.

The Sibley County Sheriff's Office confirmed that Boelter's car was found in Faxon Township. Residents were advised to exercise caution and keep their doors locked. The vehicle was later towed from the area, but authorities have not confirmed if it was related to Boelter.

Senator Amy Klobuchar shared a message from Senator Hoffman's wife, detailing the injuries sustained in the shooting. Senator Hoffman was shot nine times, and his wife was shot eight times. They are both undergoing surgeries.

Officials have noted that Boelter's vehicle contained signs with the phrase "No Kings.
