Tucker Carlson has criticized former President Donald Trump, accusing him of being involved in Israel's actions against Iran. The former Fox News host, known for his strong stance on conservative issues, made these accusations in his newsletter.
Carlson's newsletter, titled "This Could Be the Final Newsletter Before All-Out War," directly rebuked Trump and his administration. He stated that despite the U.S. not physically carrying out the attacks, years of providing funding and weapons to Israel, which Trump himself had boasted about, placed the U.S. at the center of the events.
Carlson further asserted that the U.S. was aware of the attacks and aided Israel in their execution. He argued that politicians who claim to prioritize America cannot credibly deny their involvement.
The situation has created division within the MAGA movement. Prominent figures have publicly expressed their concerns. Some believe that a direct strike on Iran could fracture the Trump coalition and potentially impact future elections. Others have noted that foreign policy is a significant point of disagreement within the right-wing.
Reports indicate that Trump had advised against the attacks during a conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. However, Israel proceeded with its strikes, targeting numerous locations and resulting in casualties. Iran has since retaliated with missile attacks, which the U.S. is supporting Israel in intercepting. Trump has stated that he was aware of the pre-dawn raid but claimed the U.S. was not involved.
