Israel Attacks Iran's Capital, Targeting Nuclear Program and Sparking Retaliation

Early Friday morning, Israel launched an attack on Iran's capital. The strikes focused on Iran's nuclear program and resulted in the deaths of several high-ranking military officials. This action significantly escalated tensions, increasing the possibility of a full-scale war between Israel and Iran.

The attack represents the most substantial military action Iran has experienced since its war with Iraq in the 1980s. The timing of the strikes was particularly notable, occurring just before scheduled talks between Iran and the United States regarding Iran's expanding uranium enrichment program. These talks were planned to take place in Oman over the weekend.
