Singapore's 15th parliamentary session is scheduled to start on September 5, marking a significant event following the conclusion of the 2025 General Election on May 3. This upcoming parliamentary sitting will take place about five months after the previous Parliament was dissolved on April 15, paving the way for this election.
The session will commence at 5pm with the election of a new Speaker and the swearing-in of Members of Parliament, as announced by the Leader of the House, Indranee Rajah. The new parliament will consist of 97 elected MPs and two non-constituency MPs. In addition, on the same day, President Tharman Shanmugaratnam is expected to present his opening address, wherein he will discuss the government's priorities, policies, and programs. Following this, the debate on the president's address is scheduled to take place from September 22 to September 26.
