A shooting on the Las Vegas Strip over the weekend, which resulted in the deaths of two individuals, was captured on video during a live stream on their shared YouTube channel, according to a police report. The victims, identified by the Clark County coroner's office as Tanisha Finley, 43, and Rodney Finley, 44, were a married couple. Both died from multiple gunshot wounds.
Las Vegas police stated that the shooting, which occurred near the Bellagio fountains, was an isolated incident between the victims and the suspect. The suspect, identified as Manuel D. Ruiz, surrendered to authorities at a police station outside of Las Vegas. The police report indicated that the victims and the suspect had been engaged in a feud on social media since at least 2023.
Ruiz, 41, is facing two counts of open murder with a deadly weapon and is being held without bail. Ruiz, known online as "Sin City Manny," appeared in court. The Associated Press sought comment from his public defender. Ruiz claimed self-defense after his arrest.
Prosecutors are considering seeking the death penalty for Ruiz. The video livestream shows the suspect pulling a gun from his waistband and firing multiple shots. After Tanisha Finley is seen grabbing the phone, the phone falls to the ground. A police officer then appears in the camera frame and turns off the livestream.
The couple's son was among the 911 callers who reported the shooting. In his interview with police, the suspect said he also had a YouTube channel and had been livestreaming from the Strip on the night of the shooting. Ruiz claimed he began shooting because he believed one of the victims was reaching for a weapon. Police confirmed that no firearms were found on the victims.
The shooting took place in a busy area of the Strip. Rodney Finley's mother stated that her son and Ruiz had been feuding online.

I can't imagine the trauma of seeing that live, and their son. This won't go away for anyone involved.

This sounds like an awful movie, but unfortunately it's real. The definition of tragedy.
