Student Detained After Cafeteria Attack at Wuhan University

On Friday, authorities in Wuhan, Hubei Province, reported the detention of a university student following an intentional injury incident at a campus cafeteria. The attack resulted in three individuals being wounded.

The Hongshan District Branch of the Wuhan Public Security Bureau issued a statement detailing the event. The incident occurred around 5:00 pm on Wednesday within a cafeteria at Wuhan University. Police promptly arrived at the scene.

Working alongside university staff and emergency medical services, officers transported the injured individuals to the hospital. The statement confirmed that all three are currently in stable condition and are not suffering from life-threatening injuries.

The suspect, identified as 23-year-old male student Zhu, was apprehended at the scene. Preliminary investigations indicate that Zhu committed the attack due to academic difficulties. He has confessed to the crime and is now in criminal detention. The case is ongoing and under further investigation.
