Trump Warns Musk of Consequences Over Political Funding, Relationship Severed

In a recent phone interview, former US President Donald Trump addressed the possibility of Elon Musk funding Democratic candidates who might oppose Republicans supporting the GOP's budget bill. Trump stated that such actions would result in "serious consequences," though he refrained from specifying the nature of these repercussions.

The former president also indicated a lack of interest in mending his relationship with Musk. When asked if he desired to repair their relationship, Trump responded with a firm "No." He further suggested that the relationship was likely over and that he had no plans to communicate with Musk in the near future, citing his busy schedule.

This public rift followed weeks of Musk criticizing Trump's key legislation, referred to as the "Big Beautiful Bill," as it progressed through Congress. Musk argued that the bill would significantly increase the national deficit and negatively impact his efforts to reduce government spending during his time as head of the Department of Government Efficiency.

Following Musk's departure from the Department, he publicly condemned the bill as a "disgusting abomination." Trump, in response, expressed disappointment with Musk's actions. While he mentioned considering the cancellation of government contracts with Musk, he also stated that he was preoccupied with other pressing matters of state and was not currently focused on the situation.
