Last week, officials in North Carolina carried out a tense rescue operation for a teenager who was bitten by a rattlesnake during a fishing excursion in the mountainous area of Avery County. The State Emergency Operations Center quickly sent a Black Hawk helicopter from the North Carolina National Guard, accompanied by trained rescue personnel from the Charlotte Fire Department to assist in the treacherous terrain.
Zain Shah, the young victim of the snake bite, shared his appreciation for the first responders on social media. He mentioned recognizing one of the rescuers and thanked the team for their life-saving efforts, stating he could not express his gratitude sufficiently.
Shah's father, Inman Shah, elaborated on the situation in the comments, describing the incident as a deadly turn of events during what was supposed to be a fun fishing trip for Zain and a friend. He praised the dedicated efforts of the NCHART and Linville-Central Rescue teams that successfully reached his son in a remote location. After being air-lifted for medical attention at Johnson City Medical Center, Zain is now recuperating at home, and both he and his father are immensely thankful for the rescue teams.
The timber rattlesnake, which bit Zain, is recognized for its distinctive gray coloration and patterned skin, making it a notable pit viper species found across various regions of the eastern United States. These snakes are typically between 2.5 to 5 feet long and have a warning technique of propping themselves up and shaking their tails when they feel threatened.

These kinds of incidents glorify irresponsible behavior. People need to take more responsibility.

This is what happens when people don't respect nature. They need to be more aware!
