Record-Breaking EuroMillions Jackpot Set for Friday as No Winners Emerge from Tuesday's Draw

The EuroMillions draw on Tuesday did not produce any winners, leaving the prize for Friday's draw estimated at an incredible £208 million, which would set a record as the largest lottery payout in the UK, according to Allwyn, the National Lottery operator. With the jackpot now capped, the excess funds will be distributed to the second prize tier, creating a chance for multiple players in the UK to win substantial amounts by matching five main numbers along with one Lucky Star.

Andy Carter, who serves as the senior winners' adviser at Allwyn, emphasized the significance of this upcoming draw. He stated that the £208 million prize represents the potential for the biggest-ever winner in the history of the National Lottery. Furthermore, Friday’s draw will also create at least 13 guaranteed millionaires through the EuroMillions Millionaire Maker, making it a lucky day for those fortunate enough to have the winning tickets.

In the previous draw, one UK player achieved millionaire status by matching five main numbers and one Lucky Star, taking home £4.53 million. The drawn main numbers were 19, 36, 39, 40, 45, and the Lucky Stars were 05 and 06. Additionally, a player matched the five Thunderball numbers and won £500,000, while seven others secured over £2 million each by winning the second-tier prize. Notably, 18 ticket-holders who matched just the five main numbers, without a Lucky Star, could each claim more than £17,000.

The UK has seen several notable lottery wins in recent years, including the record jackpot of £195 million won by an anonymous ticket-holder on July 19, 2022. Earlier that year, Joe and Jess Thwaite of Gloucester won £184,262,899 with a Lucky Dip ticket. Another significant win occurred on November 26, 2022, when an anonymous ticket-holder claimed £177 million, and the highest payout for this year reached £83 million in January.
