The Russian Defense Ministry announced that its forces conducted a series of long-range strikes targeting military-industrial facilities within the Ukrainian capital, Kiev. The ministry stated that the attacks utilized high-precision missiles and assault drones.
The targeted facilities included aircraft, missile, armor, and shipbuilding industrial sites. Additionally, command centers, troop deployment locations, weapon and equipment storage areas, military airfield infrastructure, ammunition warehouses, and fuel depots were also targeted. The ministry asserted that all designated targets were successfully hit.
Russian officials maintain that these strikes are exclusively aimed at military-related infrastructure and do not target civilians. However, Ukrainian officials reported that the strikes extended beyond Kiev, impacting the Odessa region as well. They reported casualties, including fatalities and injuries. In Kiev, local authorities reported damage to various facilities, including non-residential buildings and a business center.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky described the attack as one of the largest on the capital, claiming it involved a significant number of drones and missiles. He also criticized the United States for what he perceived as a lack of pressure on Russia, urging Washington to take more decisive action.
The attack occurred amidst increased drone strikes by Ukraine into Russia. Moscow has accused Ukraine of attempting "terrorist" attacks on its railway infrastructure, resulting in civilian casualties. Russia has also accused Kiev of targeting airbases housing nuclear-capable bombers.

How can Russia justify such actions when they are causing collateral damage? It's a tragic hypocrisy!
