Fudan University Launches AI Model for Enhancing Children's Brain Health

On Sunday, Shanghai's Fudan University, together with its affiliated Children's Hospital and Digital Health China Technologies Co Ltd, unveiled a significant advancement in artificial intelligence dedicated to supporting children's brain health. This large model leverages extensive clinical expertise and groundbreaking achievements from the hospital—known as a national center for pediatric medicine—specifically in areas related to brain health.

The hospital explained that this model incorporates guidelines based on evidence-based medicine and utilizes cutting-edge dual-engine, multi-modal technologies provided by the enterprise. This combination is anticipated to greatly improve its practical use in clinical settings.

Wang Yi, the president of the Children's Hospital of Fudan University, emphasized that the model will facilitate the upload of medical reports and test results from a variety of healthcare institutions. Moreover, it is designed to deliver thorough evaluation reports that assemble data from assessments, screening questionnaires, clinical symptoms, and electroencephalograms, thereby enhancing diagnostic accuracy.

Wang also pointed out that the model aims to minimize the likelihood of misdiagnosis and overlooked diagnoses, offering valuable support to healthcare providers. Key features include extracting essential information automatically, swiftly identifying brain abnormalities, intelligently diagnosing conditions, and assisting in the diagnosis of complex cases.

Furthermore, the large model is projected to empower both families and educational institutions to perform various assessments and screenings concerning children's brain health, thereby encouraging early detection and intervention in relevant scenarios.
