Sarah Ferguson made an unexpected appearance at a Buckingham Palace event hosted by King Charles this evening. The 65-year-old attended the Community Based Cancer Support Reception, marking her presence a year after her diagnosis of malignant melanoma in early 2024.
During the event, she spoke about the King, praising his efforts. She stated that he is an "absolutely brilliant example on revolutionising [the discussion around cancer]" and that he "always puts his whole heart into everything he does."
In a recent article published in The Times, Sarah shared her feelings about her cancer diagnoses, describing them as "like a death sentence" and a "bomb going off in my life." She also expressed her support for the Teenage Cancer Trust’s campaign, #AndYoungPeople.
She further explained that while cancer is traumatic at any age, adults often have the maturity and life experience to advocate for themselves and cope with the challenges. She highlighted that adult voices are often taken more seriously when seeking help.
