President Trump is aware that a trade agreement is a key objective for the UK and holds significant leverage in the negotiations. The longer it takes for Starmer to secure a deal, the more the relationship could sour. This creates a difficult situation for the Prime Minister, who might have to navigate conflicting allegiances between the US and Canada, especially given Canada's ties to King Charles through the Commonwealth.
