A vacation aboard a Carnival Cruise ship turned violent, captured in a video that showed a large brawl involving numerous passengers. The incident resulted in over twenty individuals being disciplined and subsequently banned from future cruises. The footage depicted passengers exchanging punches and throwing objects during the final moments of a week-long Western Caribbean voyage.
The fight erupted as passengers were disembarking the Carnival Jubilee cruise. The video, filmed and shared by a witness, showed several people attacking a traveler who fell to the ground. Chaos spread as others breached a barrier and pursued another passenger. Despite security's attempts to intervene, the brawl continued with multiple guests focusing their aggression on one man. The confrontation occurred in the baggage claim area at a terminal in Galveston, Texas, as the ship concluded its weekly trip.
A Carnival Cruise representative confirmed that 24 passengers were barred from future voyages following the incident. The company stated that the matter was turned over to law enforcement and that they would not tolerate such behavior. The Port of Galveston Police Department also issued a statement regarding the incident at Cruise Terminal 25. According to reports, U.S. Customs and Border Patrol detained several individuals, and one person was charged by police at the port.
The video of the brawl, uploaded by a Facebook user, quickly gained significant views. The cruise, which departed from Galveston the previous Saturday, included stops in Caribbean destinations such as Costa Maya, Mexico, and Roatan Island, Honduras.
This incident is not an isolated occurrence. In 2022, a similar fight involving approximately sixty people took place off the coast of New York City. During that incident on the Carnival Magic ship, glasses and bottles were reportedly used as weapons. The initial argument between two passengers escalated into a larger fight, prompting Coast Guard intervention and the involvement of NYPD officers.
