Beijing Daxing International Airport anticipates a surge in activity during the upcoming May Day holiday. The airport anticipates handling over 714,000 passenger trips between Thursday and May 5. This would represent the highest passenger volume for the holiday period since the airport's opening in September 2019.
The airport is also preparing for a significant increase in flight operations. Over the five-day holiday, a total of 4,687 flights are projected, averaging 937 flights per day. This represents an anticipated 8.1 percent increase in passenger volume and a 5.7 percent rise in flights compared to the previous year's May Day holiday.
The busiest travel days are expected to be Thursday and May 5. Thursday is projected to see 989 flights and 156,000 passenger trips. The return travel peak on May 5 is forecast to involve 988 inbound flights, transporting approximately 158,000 travelers.
