The Trump administration has displayed large posters featuring mugshots of migrants along the White House driveway. These posters, visible to the press, were placed on the north grounds, where TV crews often broadcast.
Each poster includes the word "ARRESTED" above a mugshot and the alleged crime. Instead of names, the posters identify the individuals as "illegal aliens." A White House official stated the intention was for the posters to be visible behind journalists during their broadcasts.
The posters, which reportedly feature individuals accused of crimes such as murder, sexual offenses, rape, and drug distribution, are intended to highlight arrests made by the administration. An official indicated these posters showcase some of the most serious criminal cases involving immigrants arrested since the administration took office.
This display follows a poll indicating that less than half of Americans approve of Trump's handling of immigration. His overall approval rating has also declined since his inauguration.
The posters were set up shortly before a briefing by the administration's "border czar." The administration has faced criticism for actions such as the removal of alleged Venezuelan gang members, some of whom reportedly had no criminal records. Additionally, there have been reports of the deportation of a U.S. citizen, which was later condemned by a federal judge.
In the first 50 days of Trump's term, ICE arrested nearly 33,000 immigrants, with almost half having prior criminal convictions. These arrests included individuals convicted of crimes such as sexual misconduct and drug trafficking.

Even if these individuals committed crimes, this display singles out a group of people and paints them with a broad brush of criminal behavior. This is hate speech.

This is a clear case of propaganda, and it should be called out for what it is.

This is keeping America safe. I support showing the public the criminal activity of these people.

This just strengthens negative stereotypes and creates an environment of hate and paranoia.

Good. The public needs to see who is being arrested and the crimes they're committing.
