Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu of Andhra Pradesh has announced a compensation of Rs 10 lakh for the families of two individuals from the state who lost their lives in the recent terror attack in Pahalgam. The victims, identified as retired bank employee JS Chandramouli and IT professional Madhusudan from Kavali, were among the 26 people killed in the attack.
After returning to Visakhapatnam, CM Naidu expressed his condolences and paid tribute to Chandramouli, welcoming his remains at the airport with floral offerings. Joined by key officials, including Union Minister K Rammohan Naidu and state Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha, he accompanied the funeral procession, showing respect for the deceased and their family.
In a media address, Naidu condemned the terrorist attack, describing it as a deliberate act that threatens India's integrity. He mentioned that eyewitness reports suggested that Chandramouli attempted to escape before being shot, framing the incident as a significant assault on the nation's peace and unity.
Emphasizing the need for collective action, the Chief Minister appealed to citizens to support government efforts in safeguarding the country and encouraged vigilance against suspicious activities. He highlighted the troubling timing of the attack, coinciding with high-profile visits from international dignitaries, and confirmed that Andhra Pradesh would maintain heightened security measures, bolstering coordination with the central government.
Naidu concluded by affirming that India is on a path to becoming a global leader by 2047, reiterating that such terrorist acts are desperate attempts by forces trying to undermine the nation's progress. He called for a united front against terrorism, asserting that the nation grieves together while remaining determined to overcome these challenges.
