Tasha Lawson, a mother from Georgia, passed away on April 13th due to heart complications at a hospital in Waycross. Her death occurred just days after the tragic loss of her 20-year-old son, Tee’Andrick Lawson.
Tee’Andrick had been discovered dead in his home eleven days prior. Family members believe he was killed by two individuals who broke into his residence while his mother was away. It is suspected that his sexual orientation may have been a factor in the crime. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is currently leading the investigation into the young man's death, but further details have not been released, including whether it is being investigated as a hate crime.
The Ware County Coroner, David Jordan, stated that Tasha Lawson's official cause of death was related to heart issues, specifically an aortic dissection rupture, along with hypertensive and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease. The death was ruled as being due to natural causes.
Lawson's family has expressed that she died from profound heartbreak following the loss of her son. They described their bond as incredibly close, stating that they were inseparable. A GoFundMe page described them as best friends who did everything together.
Tee’Andrick was remembered as a loving, humorous, and free-spirited young man whose life was cut short by a senseless act of violence. He was known for his vibrant personality, bringing laughter, energy, and warmth to every room he entered.
In an interview conducted after her son's death, Lawson described him as a bright and sociable individual who loved to dance and laugh. She expressed her profound grief, stating that she could no longer share everyday activities with him and that he did not deserve what happened to him.

When a mother and son share such love, it’s heartbreaking to see both taken from this world so abruptly.

This highlights the need for stronger protections for LGBTQ+ individuals. We can't turn a blind eye to hate.

It’s tragic that these two lost souls were so closely tied in their destinies. Their love shines through this darkness.

This is such an exaggerated narrative to gain sympathy. Death of one doesn't justify another.

Tee'Andrick sounded like a beautiful person. Let’s remember him for his spirit and fight for justice.

Mourning is one thing, but exploiting death for social narratives is another. Let’s keep the focus on reality.

This narrative isn't helping anyone; it just promotes division and speculation at a time when healing is needed.

Sad for the family, but let's not forget these tragedies happen every day without creating drama or hype.

It's wrong to use someone's tragic death to push a political agenda about hate crimes without evidence.

Why bring in hate crime discussions when the cause of death was declared natural? It takes away from real issues.
