On Monday, a 30-year-old man was taken into custody after an incident at Trump Tower. Police responded to reports of a disorderly person at the building owned by former President Donald Trump. The man was reportedly seen on an "elevated surface" within the tower.
The New York Police Department arrived at the scene around 4:30 p.m., deploying a team to the skyscraper. Trump Tower houses luxury residences, retail spaces, restaurants, and a public viewing platform. An NYPD source described the man as "emotionally disturbed."
Footage from the scene showed security personnel evacuating the atrium and police officers leaving the building. The officers were equipped with helmets and safety harnesses, typical of emergency responders trained for high-altitude rescues. According to reports, the man was running on the fifth floor, expressing a desire to reach the roof. Trump Tower has 58 floors.
The NYPD's emergency service unit apprehended the individual without further issues. The charges the man may face are currently unknown, and the investigation is ongoing.
Trump Tower was completed in 1983, following Donald Trump's acquisition of the site. Before his presidency, it served as the businessman's primary base of operations and was the filming location for the television show "The Apprentice." In 2015, it became the headquarters for his presidential campaign, remaining so until his election victory. The building is located in midtown Manhattan.
Over the years, Trump Tower has been the site of various incidents, including protests, bomb scares, and stunts. In 2016, an individual attempted to scale the building, reaching the 21st floor before being arrested. Recently, protesters advocating for the release of Mahmoud Khali staged a sit-in within the building, resulting in 98 arrests.

The guy deserves compassion instead of criticism. We need to focus on understanding mental health.

At least no one was seriously harmed. Mental crises can happen to anyone, and we need to support one another.
