The King and Queen participated in the customary Easter Sunday service at Windsor Castle, joined by other members of the royal family. However, the Prince and Princess of Wales were noticeably absent from the event.
Upon their arrival at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, Charles and Camilla greeted the public with smiles. They were accompanied by the Princess Royal, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, the Duke of York, and other members of the royal family. Camilla received flowers before she and Charles engaged with the public, exchanging brief greetings.
William and Kate chose not to attend the traditional Easter Sunday service, opting instead to spend the weekend with their children in Norfolk. A source indicated that Prince William had informed the King of their decision, explaining their desire to spend quality time together as a family during the Easter holiday. The source further mentioned that the couple wanted to enjoy family time before the children returned to school.
Last year, the couple also missed the annual service due to Kate's cancer diagnosis. She is now in remission and gradually resuming her public duties. The family has a country home, Anmer Hall, located on the Sandringham estate.
The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, along with their son James, the Earl of Wessex, were present at the service, as were Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank, and Princess Beatrice and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi. They were met with applause from the crowd as they departed.
Also in attendance were the Duke of York, the Princess Royal, his ex-wife Sarah, Duchess of York, and Anne’s husband Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence. As the Duke of York left the chapel, a member of the crowd wished him a "Happy Easter." He acknowledged the greeting before departing with Sarah, Duchess of York, who smiled and waved to the well-wishers.

I find it hard to believe they couldn't squeeze a little time in for the service. It feels like they don't care.

I admire them for choosing family time over royal duties; it’s a healthy decision.

I think it’s refreshing to see royal family members choosing personal connections over public appearances.

We need to remember they’re parents too. Their kids deserve that time without the spotlight.
