Other foods, such as pre-cooked grains and popcorn, may not reach the necessary temperatures for proper cooking, leading to disappointing results. Popcorn kernels can also pose a safety risk by getting stuck. The texture produced by air fryers can also be problematic, potentially making shellfish rubbery. Additionally, dishes with cheese, wet-breaded items, and saucy foods can create a mess within the air fryer.
These types of foods are often better prepared in an oven or pan to avoid damaging the appliance. While baked goods can be cooked in an air fryer, it's important to monitor them closely and adjust cooking times and temperatures compared to oven instructions.
