A widely-sold item at Asda has been urgently recalled due to potential health risks for some consumers. The supermarket's "Simple To Cook Asian Inspired Pork Belly Slices" have been removed from shelves. Customers who have already bought the product are advised against consuming it. The issue stems from the discovery that some products may contain milk and sulphites, which could be dangerous for individuals with allergies.
Furthermore, some of the affected products have been incorrectly packaged as Asda Simple To Cook Tomato & Mozzarella Pork Meatballs. The recall applies to products with a use-by date of April 25th and a barcode of 5063089827178.
Customers who have purchased the item are instructed to return it to their local Asda store. A full refund will be provided, and a receipt is not required for the return. An Asda representative confirmed that no other date codes are affected. They expressed regret for any inconvenience caused.
A Food Standards Agency spokesperson explained that the recall is due to the presence of undeclared milk and sulphites in the product. This poses a health risk to those with allergies or intolerances to milk or its components, as well as those sensitive to sulphur dioxide and/or sulphites. The spokesperson reiterated the advice to avoid consumption and return the product for a refund.

This is embarrassing for Asda. They need to fix their processes instead of recalling.

It’s just pork belly with a little bit of milk! Get a grip, people.
