In a shocking incident in Southwest China's Guizhou Province, a 43-year-old farmer named Long found himself severely injured after a wild boar, weighing around 150 kilograms, charged at him. The attack occurred while Long was examining the boar, which was bathing near a river and had drawn a crowd. Witnesses reported that the animal felt threatened and abruptly charged, knocking Long to the ground and causing extensive injuries, including a fractured skull and severed arteries.
In a heroic effort to save him, Long's uncle struck the boar multiple times with a heavy club until it released Long. Immediately following the assault, he was rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment, while the wild boar was subsequently killed. Fortunately, after more than two weeks of intensive care, Long has been able to regain consciousness and is currently in stable condition, although he remains hospitalized for ongoing treatment.
Local authorities have responded to the incident by providing emergency medical help and launching procedures for wildlife compensation. Officials from the township forestry station have conducted an investigation and are working to improve monitoring of wild boar activity in the vicinity to prevent future attacks.

Education is key! If people were more informed about how to safely interact with wildlife, this might not have happened.

This could have been a lot worse, but thankfully everyone acted quickly. Wishing Long a speedy recovery!

We should be protecting wildlife from human exploitation, not putting them on display for a crowd to take pictures.

I’m so glad Long is recovering. Thank goodness for his uncle’s bravery! Heroes come in all forms.

This entire situation was unnecessary. Why were people getting so close to a wild animal? That’s just asking for trouble!
